Terms and conditions

Lesson fees can be paid by cash or card at present and should be paid on or before the lesson..

It is your legal responsibility to make sure you are fit to drive and hold the correct licence. As such:

You will need to present a valid UK provisional driving licence (or other valid licence) on the first lesson. If you don't have it, we will not be able to proceed with the lesson until you entitlement to drive has been established.

On the first lesson you will need to read a UK number plate from at least 20 metres away. This is the legal minimum eyesight requirement to drive in the UK, and if you are unable to we will not be able to proceed with lessons until your eyesight has been suitably corrected.

You must inform your instructor if there is any other reason you cannot drive for safety or legal reasons such as being unfit through illness, prescription medication, drink or drugs. If you are uncertain about how a medical condition may affect your ability or entitlement to drive it should be discussed with your GP and/or the DVLA.

You will only be permitted to use your instructors car on test if they deem that you are ready to take the test. The DVSA allow you to change or cancel a test without penalty if you give at least 3 clear working days notice. If you are not going to be at an appropriate standard to take the test, we will discuss that with you prior to the 3 working days deadline.

If you need to change the lesson date and/or time for reasons other than illness we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. For illness we ask that you inform your instructor as soon as possible on the morning of the lesson.

Due to reasons beyond our control (e.g. breakdown of teaching vehicle, extreme bad weather, traffic) it is occasionally for us to cancel lessons. In such cases the lesson will be arranged at no cost for the next mutually convenient time and date.

Your instructor will do everything they can to ensure your driving is both legal and safe when you are driving. However, when driving on the road, even as a learner, you are responsible for your actions behind the wheel. As such you are liable for any fines, points or other consequences of driving offences committed while you are behind the wheel.
